In this Case Study, Haven was asked by our customer to combine two of our technologies and develop a new version of our Kleencut Supported Shear Cutoff. The collaboration brought together Haven’s mechanical and controls expertise with the customer’s operational knowledge. Together, a new machine was developed that improved quality, reliability and productivity. The Haven Model #640-TW utilizes servo motion technology to control the feed and cut positioning. A new operating software was also used to support their worldwide standardization program. Part lengths as short as 6mm are statistically held to +/-0.15mm. Every ring is stamped with an identification number, at the speed of the cut cycle. Cycle rates of 6000 pieces per hour are attainable.
